Sometimes actually owning a miniature White Galloway is just not possible. If you don't live on acreage or you simply can't afford to buy a miniature White Galloway calf, then taking one home isn't an option. But there is an alternative. Earlier this year, some pretty clever people from Columbus, Ohio (USA) were determined to find a way around not being able to take a little Galloway home - and they did. They emailed us and asked if we would consider letting them a adopt a calf for their daughter. We thought, 'Why not'. We sent them an adoption certificate and we now periodically keep them up to date with the ongoing adventures of their adopted calf. We send photos and stories of what is happening in the paddocks. This family loves finding out all the news. They are also really happy that they are supporting a breed that is listed, in many countries, as a rare breed. Other families have now looked into adopting a cute calf too. Adopting cute calves is a great way for children to learn all the 'ins and outs' of a calf growing up. Of course the added bonus of adoption is that you get to find out everything without getting any cow muck on your boots! However, the adoptee is always welcome to visit their little adopted mate. They are very welcome to come and get their hands and their shoes dirty. In fact, we encourage it. Is adopting a really cute, miniature Galloway calf something you think you might like to do for someone?
